Charlotte Roller Derby partners with Leaves from Stella

Charlotte Roller Derby has selected Leaves from Stella as its 2023 community partner! Charlotte Roller Derby will donate $600 to Leaves from Stella, and league members will participate in several volunteer and program activities throughout the year.

This spring, league members wrote words of encouragement for the upcoming (and often dreadfully anticipated) Mother's Day and Father's Day holidays -- which can be particularly painful for people who've lost a parent.

"Since this time of year can bring up a lot of feelings, we wanted to take the opportunity to let scholarship recipients know that we're thinking of them and remind them that they aren't alone," says Nathalie Santa Maria, Founder of Leaves from Stella.

The organizations aim to host a grief-fundraiser skate-a-thon in the Fall, too.

Leaves from Stella is grateful for Charlotte Roller Derby's commitment to the local community and its investment in helping bereaved young adults thrive.
